Course Description

Our time together will focus on identifying resources for clinicians and clients to utilize in times of mental health crises.  This includes reviewing suicide assessment tools to determine what services may be warranted, and how to partner with local programs to support your clients’ needs.  The mental health commitment process will also be addressed. This is a recorded webinar from July 10, 2023, from 2 CEs.

Presenter Bio

Nicole is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor as well as a Board Approved Supervisor for those seeking licensure. She has received additional training to work with children receiving a Certificate for Children and Adolescent Mental Health. She holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling from Bethel University. She has been working in the helping profession for nearly 13 years in roles that support individuals with serious and persistent mental health, addiction, social services needs, and trauma. Her passion includes working with individuals at their time of crisis with acute mental health concerns. Currently, she works at the Fairview Southdale Empath and their emergency department, assessing children, adults, and geriatric patients to determine an appropriate level of care to treat their identified crisis. She has previously worked in other acute mental health settings including corrections facilities, crisis residential, county social services, and a long-term high-risk residential program. Nicole believes that building trusting relationships with mental health professionals that can advocate for access to resources empowers patients to move forward in the best outcomes for stabilization.
