Dissociative Identity is more prevalent than once believed. DID has been grossly misrepresented in mainstream media as well as online. In this presentation we will learn how DID differs from other dissociative disorders.
Reframing Dissociative Identity from a disorder to an ability created in the brain to protect the individual during times of early neglect and abuse. We will discuss “Parts Work” and how a multimodal approach including talk and art therapy can be applied while working with individuals identified with this ability. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in basic art therapy techniques and view client artwork.
