Law Enforcement Culture and Common Clinical Themes

Presenter: Sgt Paul Barnes and Marie Ridgeway MSW, LICSW, RYT

Course Description

In this webinar, clinicians will be presented with a unique insight into the untold realities of what many law enforcement officers personally contend with as a result of serving our communities, including the ways it can affect their families.  Our discussion will identify the various ways in which chronic stress and trauma can manifest in areas of their health and well being, along with the reasons why this population can be apprehensive to pursue mental health care.

Throughout the webinar there will be points of open discussion with the presenters including an experienced and active duty law enforcement officer. Please email ahead of time with any questions you would like to have addressed. Those attending will be provided a perspective that challenges common misunderstandings and offers thoughtful consideration for how we as clinical professionals can best help serve the humanity of those who serve us.
