Course Description

This will be a live webinar on Zoom on February 9, 2026 from 6-8 PM Central Time. If you cannot attend live, pre-register to view the recording once it becomes available on February 10.

This workshop is designed for mental health and social work professionals who want to more confidently identify and support clients with ADHD. Participants will learn how to recognize core ADHD traits, especially in adults and women where it is often overlooked, through a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens.

The course provides a clear framework and guiding questions to help providers spot potential ADHD, understand how it presents differently across individuals, and offer appropriate next steps. Practical strategies, real-life case examples, and ethical considerations will be included to help providers apply what they learn directly to their clinical work.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe key ADHD symptoms in adults and children, and identify how these symptoms may present differently in women and high-functioning clients; Apply 3–5 targeted clinical questions to screen for ADHD during therapy sessions.
  • Differentiate ADHD symptoms from those of anxiety, trauma-related disorders, and mood disorders using clinical examples; Explain the referral process for ADHD diagnosis, including common assessment tools and roles of collaborating professionals.
  • Identify at least three practical strategies to support emotional regulation, executive functioning, and treatment adherence in clients with ADHD.

Presenter Bio

A licensed clinical social worker with expertise in ADHD, offering training to mental health providers on identifying ADHD symptoms in adults and children and effectively supporting clients through diagnosis and treatment.

  • During the video will be 3 slides with a keyword. The keyword will be on the screen for 20 seconds. Write the keywords down as you will be asked what the keywords are in the survey
  • Certificates of completion will be provided once the video reaches 100% watched, after you mark each lesson "complete" and after submitting the survey. This webinar is setup as a digital course and the course needs to be "100% complete" in order for the completion certificate to unlock. Once the PDF is available, please save it to your computer.
